WARNING! This doesn’t work on floating line.
Push the end of the fly line through a length of shrink tubing and double it back through,leaving a loop of the fly line. Use ladies hair tongs,heated to around 170 degrees,and squeeze the shrink tube with them,turning every squeeze.Tear off the shrink tube to reveal the welded loop.
Not that I care much for welded loops on fly line,almost as little as I care for braided loops.

The first thing I do with a new line is cut the loop off !
