A new book

Post by Iasgair »

I ordered this book last week and it arrived yesterday. It's a book that covers soft hackle flies from their early days, 1747 to present day. The history of the book is delightful for what I have read so far. I must tie some of these flies.

A few days earlier I got this book in the post. Ray Berman's, Trout. First printed in 1938.

I am really getting into the history of the flies and I'm liking the styles and history of the flies from Great Britain so much that this year I will tie some British flies, whether English or Scottish and try them in my waters here in Colorado. I have a feeling this is going to be an exciting year on the water because our fellow member, Ian, has sent me some flies first tied in the UK and they work great here. Thank you, Ian.
Worry less about who you might offend, and care more about who you might inspire.
