Ogden Smith Carp Major

Post by Gilbert »

if there are any owners of a Carp Major could they let me know what colour thread was used and did they use inters in the usual MKIV fashion , and if known , were these rods made in House or were they bought in as blanks .
any other info on these rare rods would be very helpful

Pics would be most useful.

thanks G

Sorry I don't own one but I am looking at one to buy. I have no idea what the original whippings are like or even the guide price.
Can anyone offer advice on what they currently go for in useable condition?
I go fishing not to find myself but to lose myself.

hullo Trainset

the Major would normally sell for around £200 . in reasonable order . a quality resto would fetch more . the one i have might well be for sale as i have been unwell and need to shift some rods that i am not going to be able to work on . If that's of interest gimme a shout

cheers G

Hullo Wal

no -- i think it is a standard Mk IV . a nice rod .i hope to get on with sorting it before too long .

i don't know if they made an S/U but i suppose all things were possible to order . they certainly sold the equivalent Avon version.
