I cant find that post Olly. Is it the one where I compared the cane sections between a Lucky Strike with a Record Breaker.

They were sold for a lot of years but strangely they don't turn up too often.
It has been said they are a upmarket Lucky Strike but I have never compared the two blanks so can't say for certain.

For anyone interested, I finally got around to comparing the Lucky Strike and the Record Breaker. There is quite a difference in section sizes and therefore in power.
Here is a comparison of the cane section sizes. Measured across the flats at six inch intervals from the tip down. Sizes in mm.

Lucky Strike. Record Breaker.

Tip section.
2.5 2.8
3.0 3.0
3.3 3.8
3.6 4.5
4.2 4.7
4.5 5.0

5.3 5.7 just above male ferrule.

Mid section.
6.2 6.9 just below mid section ferrule.
6.6 7.3
