Re: Hi from the Kent coast
Welcome from Sussex. My older sea tackle is limited to an Abu 464 and an Ambassadeur 6500c, which I rarely use because it's too powerful for much of the beach fishing I do. I bought the reel new in the late 70s.
Most of my fishing these days is freshwater, partly because it seems almost perpetually windy around here, and fishing in rough conditions no longer brings pleasure, and I've collected a few older rods and reels that I now use from preference.

I mostly use my Zziplex and connoflex short butt long tip rods but the 70’s rods are just as capable

Hi Romney,
You have come to the right place for advice and guidance on rod restoration. Whatever you want to know someone will have an answer for you or will point you in the right direction. I thought I knew a bit but have learned so much more from the Forum!
Happy restoration!
