The record carp with Chris Yates
"Earlier this year Tim Paisley had the opportunity to meet and film a conversation with Chris Yates which includes a thrilling description of his capture of the record carp from Redmire in June 1980. For fans of carping history this is not to be missed."

Lovely stuff.
No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

I can hardly believe 44 years have passed since Chris caught that fish…..
I remember so well being told that the record had been broken whilst I was tench fishing a couple of days later. How things have changed, you’d know the same day now….

I will never forget Chris riding his upright classic bicycle ( with wicker handlebar basket) up the aisle to the stage- before making his wonderful speech about Redmire at a Carp Society event
I remember him crashing- but that be my memory overstating a great day

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
