Good luck Nobby, I hope that you make many more people happy with your talent for 'sorting Mitchell issues' :Ok:

First reel done and it's significantly better than it was...it's almost silent now. It needed a clutch drag washer, a handle knob shim and two main gear shims and it feels as good as new again. Not bad for a 60 year old reel.

It would be on its way home if our Postmistress hadn't decided she wanted a day off......

I timed this little enterprise poorly, just as I left my glasses at the optician for new lenses, so I got some reading glasses from Boots and I now I can see.......absolutely nothing except what's one foot in front of me.

But that's great for the reels repairs.

Thanks Nobby,
I will pm you for your address and get my 301 in the post to you sometime this week.,
Could well be two of them.
Thank you, how kind.

Mr B.
The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
