Once in blue moon!

Post by Tonytoned »

Hello Everyone

I had a once in a blue moon moment this morning at a national trust second hand bookshop. I picked these two books up for £2 each. (Best £4 I've ever spent).

I know this is hard to get hold of and couldn't believe when I saw it.

Had this on kindle, but have it in the flesh now.

Absolutely Brilliant
Well Done!
I gave up looking in charity shops some time ago but it's tempting me to start visiting them again.

Until about 10 years ago, I used to pick up some gems from the local charity bookshop - yes, a books-only shop with the name of one of the best-known (inter)national charities over its door and a seemingly inexhaustable supply of good angling books.
Then a new manager happened along and the angling books all disappeared, never to be seen again, never to be replenished.
I asked about this and was told that the new manager was a keen angler and he used to buy them all.....I just thought "..how bldy unfair.."
I wonder how many are still on his home bookshelves?

With luck like that you should buy a lottery ticket.
Well done. Keep looking.

What a find - The NT have secondhand bookshops alongside a good number of their estate houses, and it’s always worth a look.

Two great publications well done, I have just finished reading the BB book for I don't remember how many times, it takes me away from today’s world, to a peaceful place as does all his books.
