Nimrod help

Post by Harry H »

I picked up a Allcocks Nimrod yesterday and was wondering if it came with two tips?
Many thanks :Hat:

I don't think any Allcocks spinning rods came with 2 tops. Last appeared in 1966 Number A310. Thereafter all spinning rods were fibreglass - hollow or solid.

In order of power in cane it seems to be - Light Caster/Hughes Parry/Nimrod/Hercules.

Nimrod for 6lb to 10lb line - casting weights between 1/2oz and 1-1/2oz.

I have the Nimrod, used for stalking.

Thanks for your responses :Hat:
I've had a look at both the tips and while the ferrules fit the ring spacings are a bit different although they are the same type. The intermediate whippings are also different spacings so I think it must have been an after sales request for a heavier tip by the owner.
Thanks again :Thumb:
