A New Old BB Book.

Post by Mr B »

ImageI
ImageI have been looking out for this book for some time.
It has no jacket and smells great and is a first addition.
Looking forward to a good read.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

I bought a modern reprint of it recently to take on our cruise along with the Crucian Renaissance book. Brilliant. I'm just off to dig out my Elasticum Wire! Only kidding!

It's a classic in every respect. A couple of years ago, I read the account of the Copper Mine whilst sitting on its hallowed banks - it still sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it.

Lovely. I've got a battered first edition that I dip into now and again. The font is a bit small for my aging eyes, but it's worth the effort.

Great book, my copy is a 1985 reprint with a dust cover. Purchased for a couple of pounds from a charity shop some years ago. I am afraid that some charity shops sell the more valuable books on line and they certainly check prices. But I still trawl them in the Hope of finding something special.
I always enjoy the section on the Mapperley carp caught by Mr Buckley.
An enjoyable read.

Confessions certainly won’t disappoint Mark, it’s a wonderful book, written during a time when angling for carp was a whole lot less complicated than people like to make it now…

Well looking at the above complements I can see and have read that this book is a must have.
I was angling Monday and today (Chelmer Beano) and now enjoying a tipple and resting my aches and pains (It can be hard work!)
I am looking forward to getting my nose in this book. I love not complicated.

Thanks Rob
