Some of the chub which the rod has recently tamed, the average size chub nowadays is quite impressive.

Re: Senior Wallis Avon
The barbel had gone quite from this particular stretch, the summer lull made it more exciting once the rain arrived last week. Last Thursday the levels were up, falling, and coloured. I decided to get away from work....on time , and head down for a short session. Within 40mins of getting to the bank and fishing, this rather stunning barbel decided to come out for some spam.
Sunny afternoon, coloured water, not in the middle of the night . I thought it was going to be 15lb, it felt like that in the net, but it was 14lb 6-8oz, used two different scales.
