early wood landing net

Post by Nigel Rainton »

I have an early wooden landing net, the handle and hoop shaped net don’t take apart and the net is about 6 feet long. It has a membership card for John F Turpin tied to the frame, for the year 1954. His address was 50 Clifton Road Finchley London N3.
Does anyone know anything about John Turpin or recognise the design of the net ?

56 Clifton Road. He was a laboratory assistant in 1939, and later became a chemist.

Rod,

That was quick. Yes, number 56, the writing is faded. Given the shape of the net and the date, I was hoping for a connection to
Richard Walker :-)

Rod,

Yes, I have sent a message to the club asking for information from their archives.
