I've only recently learned that Allcock issued a supplement to the 1959 Guide to introduce two new rods.
Whilst this isn't Earth-shattering, it is the only time I have heard of them doing so and it does extend backwards the period in time that these two rods were available.
And rare rods they are!
The supplement talks of the launch of the Superb and Feathero rods, both of which I have only ever seen one of each.
The Superb is described as built for 40lb. carp and the Feathero is the only hollow-built rod they ever made.
If I can find an image of the supplement I'll put it here later.
A supplement to the 1959 Guide.

Re: A supplement to the 1959 Guide.
Hi Wal, my memory!
Is that an actual set of pages from the Guide? It looks different to the supplement I saw, but that was on FaceBook and I can't get it back again now to be sure.

Re: A supplement to the 1959 Guide.
I am glad its not just my memory, Nobby
The suppliment is a sheet of paper folded three times to fit into the pages of the 59 catalogue.
Probably only rare because it was supplied loose and most would have got lost over the years.
Wal.
