High Pete good to hear from you. Well the Canterbury sale had Hardy Perfects selling for thousands live on sky and the interviewed a "collector" I will not name but you can guess who. They asked why he was paying so much money and he just said he like old fishing tackle.TackleCat wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 4:30 pm The Canterbury event covered by SKY. What were the catastrophic circumstances Stef? Did they have a tackle fair at the same time? I only did a fair there once and had a nice Aerial stolen. The only item that went missing in all the years I stalled out. Old faces - George Thornton I first met at a Shepton Mallet, his enthusiasm and encouragement led me to the car booting and Pearson staff dodging in the College car park at Stockbridge. Then onward to Knock Deighton and the others. By the way I'm still getting over the mad lambasting I had from Jamie Maxtone-Graham for having no price tickets on my tackle items. The trips to Holland were down to you and always fun. Pete.
Someone must have been watching because later on the collection was placed under a "seizure of assets by the Government" You will remember some of the prices paid and the subsequent auction by Moore Allen at Cirencester.
I do recall the early trips to Holland and that you used to stop off in Bruges for a few days holiday. I thought I would try it one year and I must have been a dozen times since.
Take care Pete and look after yourself.
