Back in Wales several of my fishing buddies also shot. For some years each Christmas I made a traditional Game Pie , hot water pastry and lovely gelatinous stock poured in when cooled. The only problem was the lead shot! One always seemed to escape the finest scrutiny and they don't sit well with a mouthful of fillings!

I like to think of my self as a bit of a Pie,oneer, and l this post has encouraged me to get my pie tins out over the winter and get a few going.
No doubt not as good as Mollys, a true pro but they should hopefully turn out with a little help from.... "One For The Pot" Fred J Taylor" ( got a signed copy)

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
