Calder and Hebble navigation
Has any one fished the calder and hebble navigation at Brighouse, i hear some carp to be had but also some large stripeys in there, my next session will most likely be on this old canal, the angling club i am with happen to have a private peg opposite the tow path, looks a nice spot

The key is not to think of it as a narrow canal- its a huge lake, just one thats not very wide.
I have been both pleased and surprised having only canal fished in the midlands for a few years.

Yes sir its a narrow 21.5 mile long lake and a very old waterway and it has done a good number of 3lb plus Perch, also some rather pleasant carp to be hadIan.R.McDonald wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 8:39 pm The key is not to think of it as a narrow canal- its a huge lake, just one thats not very wide.

I think its catching small perch as kids that makes the large ones look enormous.
Connecting with them so close makes it even more special
