Calder and Hebble navigation

Has any one fished the calder and hebble navigation at Brighouse, i hear some carp to be had but also some large stripeys in there, my next session will most likely be on this old canal, the angling club i am with happen to have a private peg opposite the tow path, looks a nice spot

Have to say looking forward to getting on the stipeys after such a long time i will be very hapy if i can lnd a 3lb plus Sergeant

The key is not to think of it as a narrow canal- its a huge lake, just one thats not very wide.

I have been both pleased and surprised having only canal fished in the midlands for a few years.

Yes sir its a narrow 21.5 mile long lake and a very old waterway and it has done a good number of 3lb plus Perch, also some rather pleasant carp to be had

I think its catching small perch as kids that makes the large ones look enormous.
Connecting with them so close makes it even more special

An interesting chat with head bailiff and turns out the canal has carp to around 30lb maybe larger now, really looking forward to fishing this venue
