Have been keeping the deondro's in nice damp moss; on the presumption that all living things need food, have given them odd scraps of salad leaves etc, which slowly disappear.
Recently gave them some milk, in a upturned bottle top. Looks like they really enjoy it, all disappears overnight. Even seen them licking the empty top.
Hopefully this gives a bit more vigour when trotting along the riverbed.

Re: worm food
Mmm, could be. Maybe a day or two scouring after may help.
Didn't want to see them lifeless but maybe an empty stomach(?) may do the job.

Re: worm food
Just checked, knew I'd got the idea from somewhere.
Righyni in Grayling book says "Once a week pour two tablespoons of the top of the milk into the moss. The gilt-tails will consume the lot...."
Does anyone feed the worms? Good idea or bad?

If keeping dendras for any length of time a small amount of UNsalted mashed spud will keep them happy.

Bananas. I have had success with just the skins. They do thrive on this and produce plenty of offspring.
