Hi there Russel this reel's actually gone a bit yellowish, difficult to see in the pic's, Re the Fender thing, the band's the Fender IV, pretty obscure I admit, Randy the guitarist is still going and was playing that see through guitar with the reformed band in 2016 he's a rare 60s survivor like our old tackle, Mike.

Re: Perspex ball bearing one off reel
I have had a few of these over the years including a fully working Aerial style with all the bits. The perspex reels that I had were very well made. I never did use one and viewed them, probably wrongly, as more of a talking point.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

Back Street Luv is one of my favourite songs and it just nudges Pinky and Perky down to about a millionth placeSki Piit Wldie wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 11:38 am Dave, this one's just so well made, haven't worked out which rod to pair it with yet !
Curved Air, I have a distant memory of my brother playing them on the hi-fi when I was still listening to Pinky and Perky 45s, just realized I must have been four, an early conversion to grown-up music, still love Back Street Luv, also Randy Holden, brilliant Fender IV surf guitarist and later Sons of Adam psych band member played a perspex guitar more recently when performing some of is old material, very cool, Mike.

Arthur Askey? Good grief. My Best of Benny Hill is far better - in my opinion.

Now that I can see it I will say it has a lovely retro look. I was trying to visualise it , but in my mind it was always something like the larger basic perspex centrepins used by boat anglers in the 60’s.Rod Fisher wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 3:28 pmI like it. A juxtaposition of classical design and modern materials - much like what I was trying to do with my 3d printed Nottingham reel.Ski Piit Wldie wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:00 pm Here's a very nicely made twin ball race reel with more perspex than you can poke a stick at, left to me by a friend, I never even knew he had it so no idea where it came from, but pretty cool and it runs beautifully, well balanced and spins forever, Mike.

So pleased you can see it now, I love how a relatively worthless bit of nonsense can bring us together, must put it on a Wizard and catch a perch before the season is out, just for my late friend Phil, here he is in the old premises of the shop where I've worked for years. Mike.
