Hi Dan

A lovely rod, I have a ten foot one of these, rewhipped in dark green silk with all original rings and fittings about thirty years ago as the old tyings were rotten, just about mellowed in finally and looks like it was built that way, I use mine for the odd pike on the Suffolk Stour and some huge eels in small and very old local pit that has no pike and sadly no wildies either, the lakes been there since my mum used to swim in it with her friends in WWII with the local beaches all out of bounds to the public so those eels have had time to grow. That rod has coped well with a few very angry anacondas at close range so far, a truly beautiful wildie in your previous post, Mike.

A drop of cyanoacrylate in the gap will stop it rattling. You could use any medium viscosity brand I'd have thought. Apply it with a needle tip.

Hi Mike

They’re absolutely fantastic rods. Mine was well used last summer and is in need of some re-whipping. It’s heading to Essex on Monday for some light restoration.
I did manage my PB carp on it last year of just over 40lb, stalked off the top in a very snaggy swim.
A fantastic rod, that will be a life long companion!

Best Regards
Dan

Dan, what a lovely picture and fish, I'm dusting mine off now for another go at the eels in the lake you see in my picture, my best so far on the Spinmaster is 6lb 8oz but one of 8lb 10oz was caught the same year by a fellow club member, also another inspiration to fish it is that in a bit of silver-fish netting earlier in the year two perch very near 5lb turned up, they went back in and there are no pike so I can fish without wire, will let you know the results, Mike.
