Re: Thinking of buying a T3…
In the absence of any other advice I would just say get the size of reel that you want, not what's available. If you want a 3½" reel, don't get a 4" just because one comes up. With regard to mechanics, sometimes the calipers can ride up over or under the check pawl, so that's something to check for. The "V" check on later Aerials is more reliable.

It’s just good to know of any well documented issues before taking the plunge.

Re: Thinking of buying a T3…
Any particular reason for the T3 as against a T5 or “more modern” T6 or T10?

As it happens the reel I have been looking at is a T6 that had been wrongly described!

Re: Thinking of buying a T3…
I purchased a T5 - 4” reel from a TFF member and it was my “Goldilocks “ reel: I found a 3.5” inch reel too small and a 4.5” reel just didn’t look right - too big! Later I acquired a T6 - 4” (I always wanted a 12 spoked Aerial) now, I’m spoilt for choice.Timothy Claypole wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:25 pmHi Dave,Dave F wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2025 12:05 pm Any particular reason for the T3 as against a T5 or “more modern” T6 or T10?

Good luck with your purchase. I’m sure whatever model you choose, you’ll get many years enjoyment from it.
