Thanks for the welcome. I recently joined pulborough so I have other options from my other favourite places, in fact I think I spoke to you on the pulborough FB page the other day ( you were repairing a rod and I was refurbishing my MK4 Avon ) I did fish Canada at Goose green the other day for a couple of hours early morning without any luck and I have fished heron where I have had a few out, I have also fished The hardham stretch of rother and had three chub out( which is so different to further upstream that I normally fish ) I am hoping to get back up to goose green in the coming week and test the newly refurbished Avon mk4 out on deep lake.

Stephen.
Well, that's interesting. I hadn't made the connection. Rod (Old Angler) very kindly gave me a suitable tip ring yesterday at the Wally bash - with a suggestion I make a donation to charity - and advised me to fit stand-off rings for using it as a float rod, so I'll be able to progress with it now. When the weather warms up I'll give it an airing on one of the lakes with fewer carp as I'm not sure how strong my repair of the split cane tip is. Perhaps New Lake with its crucians to start with.

I've fished Heron a couple of times but it's the nearest lake to the road, so I generally fish one of the others to get a bit of peace and quiet.

Well done on getting those chub from the Rother. I've tried the river stretches a couple of times but prefer still water.

Pull up a pew by the fire, pour a favourite tipple and enjoy the banter…

Welcome Stephen I'm another West Sussex inhabitant and like to fish with my old glass and occasionally cane rods. We've had the odd Sussex get together in the past but it's tricky finding a suitable quiet water sometimes but we should look into it again. Enjoy reading back through some of the posts this forum is a goldmine of information and interesting tales.
