What a shame the image host has ruined this resource! It's a common occurrence across the internet

Hi - im looking for some information about a Dawsons of Bromley rod but cant find any details anywhere. Its 10ft and has the name ‘Avolon’
Any details and if possible ring spacing and original whipping colour would be great.

Re: Rod Ring Spacing
Yes, it was their sort of light Wizard. I re-built one ,many years ago with a separated tip section. It was fiddly work, but it held and was straight. I only sold the rod because it has a very short, 15 inch cork handle and I just don't get on with the reel behind the hand.
Having built it up and tested it bare I was shocked at the change in action as the coats of varnish and the rings went on.
I wish I'd kept it now and elongated the handle forwards.....It was a belter of a roach rod!
Not much to see, but this is the rod in my vintage tackle blog header image:

Re: Rod Ring Spacing
Im currently restoring my Avolon, and as Nobby says the handle is very short. I bought it for not much money as it was in a sorry state, rings rusted, a loose ferrule (which was pinned, but after punching out the pin came off relatively easy. Also it had a terrible set in the tip section which took 2 hours to correct to about 90% which was the best i could get it. Im re whipping with Pipers Silks and would like to put on a photo of the finished job but I cant seem to add an image to a post.
