Welcome to the kindest and most informative forum on the net. You will enjoy your time here I know I have.
In answer to your "how many" question.
An old Bob Weir quote covers it for me (although he was singing about something else )
"Too much of everything is just enough"
"Adults are always so busy with the dull and dusty affairs of life which have nothing to do with grass, trees, and running streams"
Len, welcome, what a great move you made joining up here, I've only been involved a couple of months and it's turned out to be the friendliest angling forum, an antidote to the rest of our mad world
You will never have enough or too many rods, some may come and go but they will always multiply overall, I have the same approach to old rods, conserving for me for now and others after I've gone, as for collecting I get what you mean but am a lifelong sufferer, my reasons maybe different to many others in that the stuff is a connection to those who designed and made it and the times and world they inhabited, holding and using the objects makes the connection more real, that's my justification anyway.
Hope you get as much enjoyment from the TTF as I have so far.
Finally if you ever need anything you thought was unobtainable for tackle / rod restoration please do ask, I have a lifetimes worth that may just help you out, I will never have enough time to use it all myself, Mike.
