Quiet Romsey today... sellers conspicuous by their absence... some nice buys though, good to see a few TFF'ers in attendance today... they almost outnumbered the sellers at one point... :Hahaha: :Hahaha:

Got a nice 4" Alcock Popular, I was tempted by a rare Narrow drum version but went with the wider drum version instead... On Nobby's table I got a belting 1953 Mitchell 300 level wind with machine cut gears for a song...
And just before I left I found an immaculate Dawsons of Bromley Medina for silly money...

Thats it... not buying any more rods or reels...

Fer now...
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

Interesting that it was quiet, we popped into Tenterden yesterday and we both remarked how quiet it was and then again today at our local establishment for Sunday lunch with old friends it was noticeably less full…odd

Tis difficult times.
I have noticed that there are fewer people out and fewer putting hands in their pockets.
Oh, to have short arms and deep pockets.

As this was my first 'Romsey' I can't comment as to the level the dealer attendance, but I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it.
A special thanks to all involved and the many helpful 'punters' that cast a far more knowledgeable eye over my potential purchases than I possess.
In particular, a certain TFF member for his generosity and kindness on the day; you know who you are - thank you...

An enjoyable morning as usual , always nice to see old faces again . Seemed like quite a few people were going home smiling with new found treasures .

I was certainly happy with the spiral handle Knob that you gave me for my early Mitchell John, it looks great thank you! :Thumb: I know that Nobby was glad to have you there, as you both seemed busy selling floats, reels and hopefully spares and rods too! Sadly I had to leave early as my Son had to be home by lunchtime :surrender: never again, as I was enjoying myself! :Hahaha: I met with quite a few TFF members, too many to mention, but I probably missed others that turned up after we left. All in all, a great few hours, but I will definitely stay longer next time! :Hat:

I had a great time as did the two Junior trads that came with Rod Storey and me, it was their turn to give Nobby money but not the Twenty pound notes that Keston usual hands over.Elliot asked me to thank you again for the seat box Ted and Harry for the books Nobby, you gave them some great bargains there my friend. Was lovely to see Aitch and Jackie (the sausage roll Queen) and Terry/Trev/Bob with Lily aswell as the regulars I meet and chat to
going with the flow - You gotta luv them gonks

Great to see so many TFF members at the fair.
I must apologize as I really didn't have much time to talk with all of them for long.
It was a strange morning as when the doors opened at 9am it seemed fairly quiet but between 9:30 and 11:30 it became full on.
I think Linda ended up talking with more with members such as Stour Otter (John) than I did.
So pleased to see Nobby now that he is recovering from his accident. Some beautiful floats on your table Nobby.
Due to grandparent duties I am unable to attend Redditch in May but hopefully be back for the next Romsey show in October.
I may get a chance to meet up with members again once Wally Boy Rob gets a date for the next gudgeon fest.
To all those who attended the Fair I hope you enjoyed it and trust you managed to purchase some wonderful items
Mike
