What a lovely pair
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Blimey, a special case just for it and with a pouch for the dodgy little spanner too. Does it read Terry's..? Why does that sound familiar...toolkit on my bicycle possibly??

What a find! :Hat:

I hope Ambidexman has seen this.

Yes it does say terrys nobby, the only problem with the spanner is you cant get to the screw on the side plate that is just behind the flyer

So part of the reason this reel was so expensive is because it had a cycle repair spanner worth 3d.
I suppose it was cheaper to buy it at that price than to machine one for such limited numbers of reels sold.

I think that maybe Terry's were the people to go to for any spanners, I seem to remember they made sets to deal with magnetos on motorcycles, tyre levers and all sorts of other stuff. Maybe it was nothing more than a willingness to take on small production runs?
I like the way they had a special bag made to take the spanner and the oil bottle....very bespoke.

I've never seen such a thing before and I bet it's a long time before we see another.

Being local to them probably helped aswell, the bag has a leather strap for the spool, is this standard? iv never had a reel case from youngs before.

I've got an unmarked case that came with an Ambidex and I have handled a few bags written as JW Young, both in leather and 'mock' leather ( naughahide?), but I've never seen a bag with the little extras inside...surely just for the de-luxe.
