Your post reminded me that my 500 needed re varnishing so it's been done and it's now on the dryer.My 500 was in original condition and it appeared that it had probably had only one coat of varnish.As has been said,a great rod which is very versatile.

Thank you, I will be using this soon. I'm using my chapman as it is at the mo. The rings on it do the job but they offend my eyes haha.
