That is so clean! I'd never seen wire winders like that before...what a simple idea. Genius!

Yes Nobby, they are rather good, and simple, the small piece of rubber goes on the end to protect the hook & cast, and I guess to add some tension.

I like the small ledger bars in the last photo. They are short lengths of fine wire with some drilled bullet lead slipped on, then an eye twisted on each end, they too are set up on stewart double hook tackle on the small winders in photo 4 :Thumb:

Vole; I would take it out to play, but the tackle is set up on fairly thick and I dare say quite weak gut, with quite large hooks and real lead shot, so not really fish friendly, so it will stay in my cabinet

The float/tackle winders are also Hardy 'J. T. Emery'. What a truly superb box and contents :Thumb:

One has popped up on eBay today [not surprising] poorish condition but OK at one hell of a price
Don't know how to put up a link

There's a lot of charm with these items. That's the pleasure in them. Nice to own and look at and share.

Who needs a remote controlled wheelbarrow painted like a tank, when you have a beautiful little box like this in the pocket.
I said goodbye to what I knew and embraced the ways of old, with it taking on the attitude that big isn't best.

Not this one, it is another one I am selling which is very good but not as complete and the one shown in this post.
It is listed on e-bay as a buy-it now or best offer, I will end it early if any TFF member is keen
