Thank you so much for your reply. I have assembled it and (embarrassed to say) using a ruler i make it 11ft 10" from the end of the butt to the end of the top ring. I shall take a pic of all 3 sections side by side and post shortly. Thank you again for replying :)

Looks like a 'Test' to me. Very beefy for a float rod.

I'd agree with the 'Test' identification. I refurbished a 12ft. 'Test' about 3 years ago. Because of the handwriting they sometimes appear on websites as a 'Jest.' Definitely a rod with some 'power' to it.

Some were whipped with black/yellow twist thread apparently, but mine was definitely black/white which looked like black/yellow due to the discolouration of the ageing varnish. I believe that the later ones were whipped in plain black.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to this i really do appreciate your time and kindness to a newbie and i feel very welcomed here. I hope that i will learn enough to be able to help a newbie or two in the future :)

I used a 12' Test for a while. An ideal barbel rod. Plenty of power. The shorter versions are a bit more versatile
