Got a new handle given to me by an utter gent, Richard Parkes. After my standard mod it's ready for service!! Brutal, but effective. (and yes, it is whipped in with 8lb line!).

From what I can gather it is to keep the net together and when you enter the net into the water to capture ones prize the net comes from the spoon and so you don't get the net snagged on anything before hand

The idea is it disengages when the weight of the fish hits the net. I used a table spoon as it's bigger... And therefore better!.

Actually see post 3, I tried a tea spoon but kept taking it off for tea making!!!!
