I love your Crabtree illustrations Micky and this is a novel slant. I'd hate to think of it being absent-mindedly left in a banking somewhere though!

You have inspired me to have a go.....when I was out taking my walk on my local country park there are some nice forked hazel stems which will be ready for cutting in the winter.I have made a mental note of where they are.I have walked the neglected areas of this park for years so hopefully I will find them.I will itching to go but will need the stems rest for a year once cut.....I did spot some dried teasel so float making while I wait.

I do have a hazel landing net handle part done so that could be test piece......
