Nobby I am not a collector I use all my rods on a regular basis i choose to look for rods from people that are looking to sell not from ebay I have only purchased a couple from there but it is such a huge risk without seeing them.
There really is so much rubbish on there these days you cannot trust it anymore which is a shame.

Bjp I am sure this rod was up for sale towards the end of November and if my muddled old mind serves me correctly it was somebody by the the name of Tenchman 1or2 I think. It disappeared before the closing time and I guessed there was a private sale.
My understanding is the very early Ogdens had the script going up the rod as this one does and mine the later ones the script went around the rod.

I have just assembled my Avocet which is an all built cane version and it measures 11 feet six inches overall.
