The base of my bankstick holder is from that oak
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Here is a picture for those of you who have not seen the fallen oak.

StJ - Your stopper has me thinking - any chance you could make me a Redmire Oak chess set? The stopper is a Bishops head is it not? Reference to a carp perchance? A set with each of Chris's Redmire monsters (Knights, Bishop, Black Queen etc would be amazing.....

I leaving now! Seriously, I would love to, but have so much on at the mo. The wood is unlikely to be made available, and any advertising of products made with 'redmire' wood is not allowed due to copyright. This applies to me, les, nick, foxy, and anyone else involved with the pool as well as the public. Advertising products for sale as being made from redmire wood will be delt with by the formidable legal team that sit in a darkened room at bernithen court........!

A virtual game then.... I have my normal board set up in the study if anyone fancies it? Gudgeon to King four.
I wasn't being serious StJ - just a lovely flight of fancy.

Redmire Chess set , love it Skeff, as a Redmire Forum lurker (one of the reasons i joined this noble forum, was liking the mind set of the posts from Loop, Snape, Gurn, SK and others from there) i'd read about the oak. Shame about some of the ideas, but if part of it could be used as a new bench it would be great.
