Not sure if it was marketed by more than one firm, but I have a small paperback book produced as a marketing aid by Caperns which refers to it as Caperns Silver Cloud. Doesn't say what its made of though.

I don't know if Caperns (who made bird seed) were anything to do with Spratts, or if they simply pinched the name, but the Silver Cloud ground bait I used in the '60s was definitely made by Spratts. It came in a muslin-type bag which you were supposed to immerse in water and then wring out until the ground bait was of the required consistency.

It was called Silver Cloud because silver sand was one of the main ingredients.

Puzzling. Sounds like the same anglers guide that I have. So they were Caperns, then they were Spratts, then they were Caperns again?
