Gents - I have a Hardy Sheffield with greenheart tip - and could not be further from an Avon as I have known them! RW Avon.
I am not sure who produced the first "Avon" - Wallis perhaps? Wallis Avon 1934? Bamboo - split bamboo - 3 sections is all Turner's say
