The Dorset Stour is low at present but capable of producing some fine roach if you can find them; a bit of action from last week:

I really enjoyed that, as always you make it look so easy! I think I will have to visit Throop again, it has been too long, but perhaps late Autumn might be a better time though! :Hat:

A nice steady session, DaceAce, thanks for posting.
As a matter of interest, do you always use 2 1/2lb line when stick float fishing or is your line selection species specific?

All the best.

It was a generalisation: I use two or three different lines for stick float fishing, the finest are 2lb in either Daiwa Harrier (obsolete) or Daiwa Justron (a Japanese line occasionally available but like the original Harrier), more obtainable is Dave Harrell Match Pro in 3lb which is fairly fine and floats well (as do the Daiwa lines); in the video I'm actually using 4lb Justron which is as fine as the Harrell 3lb but tougher. The weedy Avon where I might encounter big chub demands a stronger line but if I only expected dace and roach then I might use the finer lines. In my match days I used to use long unobtainable 1.5lb Daiwa Harrier.
