Having never fitted / re glued on a ferrule before I'm hoping for advice on what glue to use .
I have searched the forum but was overwhelmed by the number of posts.

Epoxy John, use the slow setting stuff, gives you time to line things up, just take you time and put in on dry first just to see if your happy. :Hat:

John, make sure the ferrule is clean inside and glue on with two part epoxy adhesive such as araldite, build the cane up with thread binding if it's a slack fit. The binding thread also needs to be wound onto wet glue then more glue over the thread before pushing the ferrule on.
Buy epoxy adhesive with a longish cure time such as 1hour to give yourself time to get it right. Some epoxy adhesives cure in 5 minutes and this time of year it can set hard in two minutes. Clean any excess glue off with cellulose thinners before it hardens.

Apologies for the late reply, I've been away (sadly not fishing). Although I did use my Sealey Roach a couple of weeks ago.
I'm not sure if it helps but mine has the same intermediate rings as AC's

Thanks MGs
That looks lovely , the dark whippings look gorgeous against the light honey blank.
I was kindly offered a set of those rings by a forum member but I have decided to go the upgrade route for the rings . I will be using black whipping though.
I must get some glue to put the ferrule back on and motivate to get on and refurbish the Roach rod.
Regards
John
