The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

Dear Sir,I've seen a rod in an early Waterlog called The Silver Wrath ,I guess it could be a fibre glass match rod. Reelmaker

Re: Allcocks Range of Rods
I have a Silver Wraith, too; silver-painted Spanish Reed with a solid glass tip spliced into the top section. This would appear to put it at the beginning of the transition from cane to glass, when glass was solid, and appreciated for its toughness but not for its weight.
If it had been made "Thames style", with an intermediate splice of tonkin, it might have been a useful rod; as it is, the action goes straight from a bendy tip to utterly rigid; strictly for fast striking and very small fish.
One went for a tenner on ebay a couple of weeks ago; even I was disappointed, the rings alone were probably worth that, let alone the curiosity value of so short-lived and rare a rod from such a time of change.

That was from a different Allcock - W.A. as opposed to S. See the VFCs thread "Allcocks of Redditch - the other one".CraigM wrote:Has anyone added The Adonis?

Surely the Superwizard gets its own entry rather than being a variant. It got its own transfer.
