Question - did you revarnish the rod after you had teaked oiled it?
I have just started on the tru-oil after a week and a half of teak oiling it.
It looks really good, and it has a very nice brilliant shine like varnish, but really easy to apply. Just a rub down before each coat (I'm using wet & dry 3000-10000) and wipe it on with my fingers. Easy to fix up if I miss any patches.
I'm going to put about 6-10 coats on and then let it dry/harden for a week.
I'll post a shot of the sections tomorrow, before another coat. A really nice easy to apply finish which looks good.
Into the home stretch now, got my YLI #100 aubergine thread, and H&H guides are waiting, just need to get some CP and some spar varnish.
Even went the whole hog and got myself a tying station and rod wrap dryer.
