I checked the Charity Commission records, the charity is registered.

Certainly the picture isn't of Chris Yates, perhaps it's the seller?

Although he doesn't live there he does fish a lake near Blandford Forum, where the seller is apparently based.

The seller sold only 4 items yet. A Ferrari Shirt, two ties and a glass plate. Sounds like a phony auction. Let's watch this one closely. If he offers "A fishing trip to the moon" next week, we know.....
...or a day out with Richard Walker. (Common Name, that is.)

I would have thought if it was a scam then they would have picked a more up to date famous angler eg Martin Bowler or Matt Hayes

Might be genuine, I just thought it was out of character and I was surprised by his choice of charity, perhaps he was cornered by a mate !
