Ogden Arun
Is this a real Arun?
The seller seems to have some nice items in the photographs

Re: Ogden Arun
I would have thought if Ogden Smiths can put a trade label on the rod bag they would have put a trade label on the rod..

Pafpuff here is a close of mine for comparison. A few of us know who this seller is so this rod and the others currently for sale could be anything but looking at the bidding certainly there are some collectors out there who are convinced it's the real deal.

Re: Ogden Arun
I sold an early (horizontal writing) version like Bumbles about a year ago and the writing was identical - I'll dig out a photo later (if I remember!).

Thanks Bumble and thanks Jim. Have either of your rods got a Ogden Smith stamped or engraved butt cap.. I only ask as I now think I may have one of their rods but I had put it down to someone else's work.
Thanks again lads.

Re: Ogden Arun
Interesting that the seller...and we all know who he is .... refers to the writing as being the original Southwell writing.
All the Southwell rods I have seen have had, quite frankly, pretty awful writing on them, often in white paint, though not always. I've yet to see any that looked that good in truth.
Neither had I heard of Ogden Smith having a Croydon oulet.....?

Re: Ogden Arun
I'm struggling to find the disc with the wretched Arun photos on at the moment - but I'm pretty sure from memory that the butt cap was inscribed.
