Just arrived ... "Improved" Speedia
Bought as a pair with a rod, I collected this reel today.
It's an 'Improved' Speedia, narrow spool, with the lever release, but without the compensating drag of the later model. There's a little paint loss ... and a little corrosion ... but having been cleaned and given an initial light oiling it spins very nicely indeed. I don't think that the ratchet mechanism has ever seen grease ... but it will !

Looks like a corker Mal, well done!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Lovely Mal, both rod and reel.
God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

Well done mal
