I have a little bit of a thing going where I sell old fishing magazines on the bay-of-E to help fund my piscatorial book habit. One of the magazines I recently sold had an article penned by Barrie Rickards on J. W. Martin and his pike fishing exploits (Pikelines; Number 34 (November 1986)). To my great delight the individual that won this magazine turned out to be the great, great grandson of the aforementioned J. W. Martin. He was incredibly pleased to get this because in his own words he was
