Does anyone know the date of this Allcock Anglers Guide?
I have this and originally suggested 1955ish
However, on further inspection I find two clues:
On page 37 there is a photograph of a brown trout, "caught .... June 1958"
And on page 128 the motto is "Allcocks have been making fishing tackle .... for over 150 years"
Purchase Tax was 4 shillings in the pound (20% although this was before percentages!)
The Felton Crosswind was "new"
The 4.5" Aerial, complete with detachable cork arbors to reduce line capacity and increase rate of recovery (does anyone have details of these?) cost 157/6 or £7.87p
We could build a set of Mastermind questions from these!
