Anyone else here fish the Kentish Stour, the Roach fishing of late has been very good indeed and the Perch have staged a remarkable comeback in the last few years.

Lovely looking perch, what area are you fishing, is it a club water?
I have fished and caught roach & chub on the free stretch around Canterbury, I saw a lovely perch in the swim, but didn't take my bait

Lovely perch! Please do tell us about the roaching, two of my dearest friends caught their two pounders there in the 1970's. We used to fish at Grove Ferry and Pluck's Gutter.

Fantastic perch matt, love the rod and reel too.
Paul. I've always fancied that free stretch in Canterbury too. Never fished there though

Hope you're going to use that rod BL!

I'd be really interested to hear how it fishes and maybe see some photos. Back in the day it was the turn of the tide and the run off, trotting bread and maggots under a balsa float for roach and bream!

Last time I went to Grove Ferry, I used a Sealey Black Arrow and a Mitchell 400... I came 3rd with 3lb 11oz of small Dace...
Problem is I'm still having physio on my damaged right elbow tendon, so I'll probably use my Shakespeare Alpha and my Rapidex.

The Perch was taken from Plucks Gutter, the Roach in the tidal stretches have really come on in the last couple of years. The Canterbury free stretch is fishing well for chub and some very big barbel indeed. I tend to avoid this section now though, better in the winter less idiots about!

The roach below were from Plucks and Grove, the pike snaffled a roach last Christmas, good fun on 2lb line!

The chub is from Canterbury stretch.

All from last 12 months.
