I know AC has one of these. You should be able to copy the image but if you would like your own photocopy, send me a PM

Does this actually work? Has anyone tried to rebuilt such a float? I'd love to try it!!!

I've got one, dating from the early 70s that i haven't used since then. Maybe in June.Paul D wrote:Think Nobby had a go?, can't remember his findings.

I suspect it could be “love”, despite its drawbacks in the rhyming department.

Re: Allcocks Streamsearch Float: instructions
I can't for the life of me figure out their instructions for choosing which offset eyelet to use - it seems counter-intuitive. Am I missing something?

Re: Allcocks Streamsearch Float: instructions
I've not actually fished any of my Streamsearch floats, rather I made some 'sail floats'.
All my Streamsearches are displayed on the wall. There's a wire figure-of-eight halfway down the Perspex rudder and both wire and Perspex are very fragile! I think the eyelet referred to is the figure-of-eight loop, which looks nothing like the illustration Vole.
I guess that since they were only made for a couple of years...1963 to 1965 possibly, they didn't work that well........
It's the dream of every float-fishing river angler to be able to steer his float to that promising glide.
Here's an advert for the float and others from December 1963, a teaser from my Antique Angling CD:
.
It's quite rare to see Allcock/Youngs stuff because in the following February Lee Products asked it they could play too and the Top Tackle outfit was fatally formed.
