Romsey Fishing Tackle Fair - 9th October 2011

Post by Mark »

Romsey Fishing Tackle Fair, 9th October 2011 from 9am to 3pm.

This vintage tackle fair features everything from split cane rods and centre pin reels from the classic manufacturers, there's vintage plugs and artificial baits as well as many curious accessories and knick knacks to rummage through. There is always a library's worth of collectible angling books.

Entry to the tackle fair on the day is just £2 with free onsite parking and refreshments available.
Address: Romsey Community School, Romsey, Hampshire. SO51 8ZB

Yes, but this time as a 'seller' so I managed to buy almost nothing...a personal best.

There will shortly be a date for the next one which will be in March, meanwhile there is Redditch next month if you are able to travel?

Next month is getting rammed, 5th with you guys at the cathedral and angling on the Itchen, 9th on the Thames fishing, 12th at Lands End at the Perchfishers launch, 19th catching the Impossible at The lands End.

You are the proverbial nincompoop SK; what's your excuse this time?

I went, like Nobby as a seller, so didn't get much chance to really look around. Did end up with Nobby's Swimversa though, which is scheduled for complete restoration back to original spec over the winter. No reflection on Nobby either - I've seen some of the rods he's done and they are far, far better than this one; the rod in question was badly refurbed by the previous owner, but it's all there and the cane, ferrules etc are very good so it's just a strip down and re-whip job. Should be able to fit it in around a Garrison 212 I'll be assembling for next year's trout activities.

And there was me thinking you bought it because of the 'name' that had done the last re-furb GOS.

I can't get at it at the moment...the Inlaws are due and the workshop is once more the Dining Room, but I do have some red-black Jasper if you get stuck. I think it's nylon, not silk, though. It's what I used to re-site the tip eye, if that's of any use to you?

Still no luck finding that camera manual, will keep trying...I think you want ISO 400 film for January, though.

Edit: Just had a 'eureka' moment and went straight to the manual and neck strap...pm your address and I'll get it off to you GOS.
