Can a date be put on the “Goldendale DeLuxe” rods?

:Hat: Unless someone has a catalogue probably not! The small advert on here is dated 2000 - so before and after that.

Any label/etc on the rod may help - Dalesman sticker perhaps?

Nothing on the rod in the way of a “sticker”. Just Jas Aspinall & Sons, Bromley, England”. “Dalesman” Goldendale De Luxe”.

Bromley???? A strange place for an Aspindale! J ASPINALL - a famous name.

Looking at a rod with the following:-
"Dalesman"
REGD
The "Goldendale"
De Luxe
by
Jas. Aspindale & Sons
Redditch
Eng

All written by hand in ink(?)

A picture/photo would be good.

I will check the few more Aspindales I have shortly.

Jas Aspinall & sons, Bromley, England.

Jas Aspindale & sons, Redditch, England.

Is that correct ??????

The Aspindales - were in the Redditch area - Manor Works - Astwood Bank. Are two places in Redditch mentioned on their rods.

No probs - I have about 4 Goldendales. From a 3 section version with t/c of about 1.75lb to a 2 section version about 1lb t/c. Any info re Aspindales is scarce it seems - no catalogues - just the occasional advert in the papers/magazines. Each of mine is different in some way - butt rings and test curves mostly but all nice usable rods. A few Aspindale float rods seem to suffer from delamination tho.

Thank you Olly for the info. The Goldendale I have had for quite a few years and to me, it is a better looking rod than the MKIV Avons I have.
