Hi,

I read somewhere recently that Richard Walker published some early articles in the angling press under the nom de plume of 'Water rail'. Is this correct or have I just imagined it?

Kind regards,

Mark

I think that he also wrote under the pseudonym of "Courteney Moore", and there may have been others.
Best regards

A most appropriate choice too. Such an elusive little bird. In more than fifty years by the waterside I've seen (ever so briefly) four, heard one without seeing it and found one dead!

In the Walker / Ingham book 'Drop Me a Line' the early letters from Ingham are addressed to Water Rail.
