Additional info. to Nobby's post on this..

Have just checked the central, end-float adjustment screw in a grey Rapidex in for repair and the thread appears to be 5/32" x 40 ME (Model Engineer), Whitworth form.

Checked this again against a 1963 black Rapidex in as-new condition and the threads concur.

A 5/32" British Standard Cycle thread as used in "Meccano" has 32 TPI and a standard M4 x 0,7p has the wrong pitch so only the ME thread will fit.
