Hello Torridge Cane, you might get lucky and find an old 2-piece split cane fly rod which will give you the length of cane you require and diameters with in that length for the correct thicknesses within its top section. Its a ruse I have used myself, you may get a softer top in its action, but as the rod only cost you £2.00 anyway, you will at least get the job done cheaply. Down your way in October staying at Cranford Cottages, St Giles in the Wood, Torrington.

I think that as it only owes you 2 pounds it may be worth getting a rod builder to make a new tip section?
Out of interest how do you know it's a kennet perfection?

you can't mistake the rod for anything else
be a monkeys uncle if it's not
will post pictures if that's ok
who do you recommend to build a new tip
